Graz Firecaster Just thought I'd mention that Meri and Kimberley are away next week so I shall be covering both their sets, Meri's on Monday at the Pig & Whistle (I'll try to keep it Meri like but I won't dress up as her this time cos I still have friction burns from the hotpants), and Kims on Tuesday at AAI (This'll be a Jukebox Fury set with plenty of mod classics thrown in). Wednesday I won't be DJing my usual set because I'm playing with my band in RL. Confused? me too! Hope to see some of you at one or the other, or both if you're feeling lovely.

Graz Firecaster I reckon UK punk came directly out of UK mod, listen to any Who, Small Faces or Kinks and you hear all the same attitude and influences coming through. Similarly US 60s garage and 70s US punk

Graz Firecaster Thanks Shauna, actually that's not dissimilar to what I'm wearing ATM. This is a great song, Elvis's earlier stuff had that energy that he lost later on sadly. I know he's a "legend" and all but if he'd had decent management he could have been sooo much more.

Graz Firecaster So I'm almost officially a mod now having completed a proper mod night set under close scrutiny from Albion, Eden, Aston and Dugi. Actually it was good to be playing again, a welcome distraction from the outside world. Finished off the night with a scooter race with Shauna and Cisa. Shauna won all the pink slips again but I'm sure she tampered with me brakes. A special thanks to my friend Mae who bought me an excellent pair of 1950s Oxfords shoes. I look the proper dandy now!

Graz Firecaster Well tonight's Jukebox Fury night again. What that means is I empty the contents of my record collection into a cement mixer and see what comes out first.
